Overview

Aims

Volunteer to work with the Cave Urban team to build the "Woven" shade sculpture in Lismore. Cave Urban are a Nationally renowned and have exhibited with leading festivals such as Woodford, Sculpture by the Sea and Dark Mofo for MONA. Volunteers are needed to assist Cave Urban to harvest and build this commissoned 8m x 4m work. Titled 'Woven' the work is a response to the human connection that the LIsmore Flood evoked and represents two holding hands. Volunteers will learn how to harvest bamboo, learn various bamboo building techniques and work with the team leaders to build a structure from concept to completion.

Outcomes

Join renowned bamboo designers Cave Urban to build an 8m x 4m structure to be installed in The Quad from the 7th - 23rd November.

Needs to be addressed

Allows the Quad to foster community- led projects and community capacity building. Upskilling for community members interested in sculptural and bamboo building techniques.
