Overview

Aims

Undertake oral history interviews with former members of the School and Coop documenting the school's history, and experience of parents and children, as part of the colourful history of the rainbow region.

Outcomes

* Provide an archive of the community history of the Lismore Community School and Magic Pudding Coop 1977-1983.
* Produce a short written narrative that could be used for digital media.

Needs to be addressed

There has been no history written of the Lismore Community School and the story is largely untold in the history of the rainbow region.

Benefits to students

Students would gain experience in oral history research and contribute to the local history archives.

Southern Cross University

This project requires historical research and interview skills. Initial interviews with the former School Director would need to be undertaken prior to 20th November.
