Mentoring HSC students through the process of accessing literature, following the scientific method to solve a problem and data analysis. This opportunity suits students enrolled in EDU92001 and EDU01105.

Working on this project you will make a difference in Key Impact Area: Education; Sustainable Development Goal: Quality Education (SDG 4).

To encourage and support HSC students through the Scientific Research process.


HSC Extension Science students will gain an understanding of the scientific research process and develop an interest in scientific research.

Needs to be addressed

Mentor to provide support and encouragement for year 12 students throughout the scientific research process.
This can be done through phone calls or skype.

Benefits to students

Engagement with scientists working in the field will inspire them to further study in the area of science.

Researchers who are willing to walk alongside a school student while they conduct a small research project.


School staff are teaching the skills required and supporting the students through class work and assessment.
