Do you want hands on experience connecting with community as part of Australia's first charity? through a Pram Push is an activity based group where parents and carers, who would love to get outdoors a little more amongst other parents and carers of young children as a way of building new friendships & more social connections. This opportunity would suit student volunteers or students enrolled in the following units; HLT10595, COM30001.

Working on this project you will make a difference in: Key Impact Area: Community and Cultural Development; & Sustainable Development Goal: Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).

Aims

For parents and carers to:
- Increase physical activity

Benefits to students

- Understanding the benefits of physical out door activities to the health and well being of parents and carers
- Using group facilitation skills

- Gentle, soft entry engagement to connect families to services through outdoor engagement of physical activity

- Confident to communicate with children and adults
- Able to support the facilitation of a group
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
- Flexible, empathetic
- Enjoys being outdoors, physical activity and recognises the importance of building relationships with participants to connect to services

Outreach program completed in local parks at Oxenford, Labrador, Nerang and Coolangatta. Risk assessments have been completed for this. Tuesday mornings needs to be available for volunteers, program only runs during the school terms. Complete police check through the organisation and eligible and willing to obtain working with children's check/Blue Card.
