DARK SCIENCE is a new freaky festival of fun that will occupy Lismore Quad for two nights on Fri 16 and Sat 17 August. Set during science week, DARK SCIENCE is a free event celebrating the intersection between provocative art, and the sciences. This project would student volunteers or those enrolled in COM30001.

Overview

Aims

• Provide a platform for artists to test out new and existing work that explores the intersection of the arts and sciences
• A new event dedicated to experimental work that pushes boundaries and activates the Quad after dark
• Set during science week to provide an event for primarily adults to experience dynamic and thought provoking works that explore science.

Volunteers:
• must be able to be on feet for long periods of time
• ability to work in the evenings till 10.30pm
• interest in events and working in the arts (not essential)
• reliable and committed to turning up for shifts
• flexible to do a range of jobs, there may be some physical lifting required.

Outcomes

• Establish a new event on the arts / sciences calendar
• Provide a platform for new work to be presented.

Needs to be addressed

Provide an interactive, challenging multi-artform program that gives a voice to the diverse artistic community of the Northern Rivers.
